Pelvic Floor Work

I specialize in working with pelvic floor dysfunction which may include symptoms such as:

  • Incontinence

  • Urinary Urgency

  • Prolapse

  • Painful Sex

  • Low Back Pain

  • Hip Pain

  • Knee Pain

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome

The muscles of the pelvic floor are connected to the rest of your core system, which includes the abdominals, diaphragm and deep spinal muscles. The pelvic floor is also intimately connected to the deep stabilizing muscles of the hip and inner thigh. When working well, this system helps to maintain your posture, balance, without rigidity or strain, and responds as you jump, pick up a bag of groceries, or walk up the stairs.

By accessing these muscles as part of a stabilizing core system, we can find longer lasting pelvic floor function that applies to your body, and your life, so you can stop peeing when you sneeze!

Workshops

I lead group pelvic floor workshops based out of LifeWorks Studio. We explore pelvic floor dysfunction and learn how to access the pelvic floor in a functional way that can be applied to real life (we go way beyond Kegels).

Class includes information, discussion, movement, as well as plenty of time for your questions!

One-on-One Sessions

As a yoga therapist, I offer one-on-one sessions to address pelvic floor dysfunction. I am not a pelvic floor physical therapist, so I do not diagnose or treat dysfunction, nor do I perform internal adjustments. I do work with you to find access to the muscles of your pelvic floor in a way that can be integrated into your life.
